Recent Goings-on

Well, not a ton of stuff has been happening lately. I'll start with the law school front, because that's where the bulk of visitors are probably here for. I start law school in less than a month and should be receiving my schedule soon. I put my notice in at work that I will be leaving as of August 25. I'm really nervous, but excited about the whole law school thing. I feel as though I've prepared long and hard for this and now all that hard work is finally going to pay off. I managed to talk with my undergrad college and got them to release my graduation transcript a few days early, so my enrollment at Wayne didn't get interrupted.

I talked to financial aid today at Wayne about how my scholarship was going to affect my loans. I also wanted to make sure that if they were going to cut anything out of any of my loans, that it was cut out of the alternative loan and not the Stafford ones. Then they told me that they hadn't received my scholarship information yet. I contacted the dean of students office who said they haven't processed any of the acceptances yet, so I shouldn't be concerned. That was a bit of a relief. I'm not looking forward to spending $500 on books, but I guess I shouldn't be too concerned, as it's a necessary evil.

On the personal front, I've been in anime heaven lately watching fansubbed versions of Ah! My Goddess season 2, which is still airing in Japan. I love that series, and I hope to find a woman that's a lot like Belldandy some day. She is just... awesome. I also got a JBL Onstage speaker interface for my iPod that really sounds nice. I no longer have to leave my computer on at night to listen to mp3s while I fall asleep (I was never a big fan of burning audio CD after audio CD from mp3). I just plug my iPod into this baby and it sounds great.

My eyesight is still doing great and most of the irritation is completely gone. I still get dry eyes sometimes, but that's not abnormal. That's really the only negative side effect to the whole thing. Not much else going on at the moment. I guess one could say this is the calm before the storm. I'll try to keep more active with this blog after law school starts, since most of you reading this really want to know what happens at law school, what it's like, the answers to famous conundrums, etc. Watashi wa ganbarimasu! (I'll do my best!)
